I love stuffed shells, especially the ones my mom and I make. My grand pap Gino passed the recipe on to us. He was Italian, which is where I get my love for Italy and Italian food.

My grand pap Gino, pictured above, was born July 5, 1925. His full name was Eugenio Carlo Giovachino Capone. He was married to my great grandma Irene Capone. He served in the Marine Corps.

My favorite memories of him are how he would let me put makeup on him when I was a little girl, and how kind and caring he was to everyone.

Here is our recipe for stuffed shells:

First, we boil our jumbo shells, then we fry some ground meat and heat up the sauce. We start to assemble the stuffed shells and put meat inside the shells. Then, we put them in a baking dish and pour mozzarella cheese and sauce on top. We bake them for 10 minutes, and lastly eat our homemade stuffed shells.
