The National Park Service turned 100 on August 25, 2016, marking a century of protecting some of America’s most special places for the enjoyment of us all.

There are more than 400 sites nationwide in the National Park system. One of them is Acadia National Park, in Maine.

Coal Cracker Kids Meredith and Jack Rhoades, pictured above, vacationed in Acadia National Park this past summer. Here are a few photos capturing the natural beauty of the Maine coastline.

Happy 100th Birthday National Park Service!
